| Imagine being a student at CHS at the end- of -day January 31st, 1939. Today you reported to the Broad & Green Street facility as always, and tomorrow, February 1st, you will report to the beautiful new Ogontz and Olney Avenues building. That is what happened to its 1,250 students and the forty- plus member staff. The 2,400 non-academic student body and the seventy faculty members who did not make the move stayed at the facility, now renamed the Benjamin Franklin High School, under the principalship Dr. A. Oswald Michener. |
