Harvey is a practicing psychiatrist, receiving his Doctor of Medicine degree from Temple University. Harv is Board Certified in General, Adult, and Adolescent Psychiatry. His areas of specialization are Adolescent and Adult psychiatry, ADHA/ADD, comorbid conditions including depression, anxiety and substance abuse. His counseling expertise includes Family and Substance Abuse and Testing. Harvey was President of the American Society for Adolescent Psychiatry in 1991 and has served as a Senior Editor of Adolescent Psychiatry since 1990. A Fellow of ASAP and the American Psychiatric Association, Dr. Horowitz has held a variety of directorships within the adolescent programs at the Institute of Pennsylvania Hospital and is Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, University of Pennsylvania. Harvey is also the co-author of notable texts in his field, including Adolescent Psychiatry. Harvey has had more than 25 years experience with ADD/ADHD and medical psychiatric treatment.
Harvey and his wife, Claudia have five children (ages 26 to 45) and a beautiful granddaughter. He is currently practicing part-time 'while traveling and enjoying a full and fortunate life, thanks in part to my years at Central".
