Cal passed away in October 2001 after a twenty-year courageous battle with cancer and its after-affects. He was 58 years old. He had a successful practice in Philadelphia and Norristown and at Parkview Hospital in Philadelphia from 1975 until 1993. He was instrumental in the development of a device for a biconvex intraocular lens for cataract surgery. Cal was a member of the Lions Club of Norristown, which brought in patients from around the world for eye surgery which Dr. Dubrow performed, free of charge, at Suburban General Hospital. The hospital graciously donated operating room time. Cal was also the founder of "Eye-Care-a-Van", a mobile opthalmology lab for treating homebound patients and patients in nursing homes. He is survived by his wife of thirty-five years Dina Stein Dubrow, two sons and three daughters |
