Marshall was my closest friend at Central High. He was a marvelous piano player. He taught me how to play Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto and even explained to me what the melody was actually saying. Marshall was a fastidious dresser, and had more suits in his closet than probably any of his classmates. He was a counselor at a summer camp, getting quite an education in real life there. He attended business school at Temple Univerrsity after graduating Central. He had an interesting job there – he saw to it that students were taking all the courses they needed to graduate. When I was in the Air Force in California (around 1968) my mother called me to tell me she saw him as a guest on “What’s My Line”. His occupation was that he purchased meat for the lions for Ringling Bros. circus! No kidding! The next call I got from my mother about him, many years later, was very sad. She told me that she read his obituary in the Inquirer. He had a position with a well-known clothing manufacturer.(Submitted fondly by Stephen Feldman)
