I have been married to Susan Wasserman for 44 years. We have two children and one grandchild. After Milt Levin said I dont know what youre going to be, but youll never
be a mathematician, I had something to prove. In 1970 I received a Ph.D. in
Mathematics. I went on to hold research and teaching positions at Lehigh, CUNY
and NYU (in Information Science, Operations Research, and Operations Management). Interestingly enough, none of them was in math. In fact, I never held a job for which I was academically qualified. I founded a full service management consulting firm,
Humes Stern Assoc.,(1973) whose client list included IBM, Union Carbide, Just Born Inc
and many others. After retiring from teaching (2008) I moved to Florida and accepted
the position of Research Coordinator at NYU. I do not go to NYC, but rather teach and
advise on-line from Florida. I look forward to seeing you all at the 50th Reunion!
