Ray (MD,F.A.A.P.) is an adult and child psychiatrist. He has extensive experience helping chuildren, adolescents, adults and whole families in individual, couples, and family therapy. He has specialized training in Ericksonian hypnosis, Neurolinguistic Programming and E.M.D.R. complements his background botgh in Psychiatry and in Pediatrics. Dr. Wertheim was on the teaching staff of the Philadelphia Guidance Clinic where he worked with Salvador Minuchim, MD, the creator of the Structural Family Therapy School. He subsequently joined the clinical and teaching staff of the Family Therapy Institute of Alexandria, VA in 1981. Ray provided academic leadership as Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry: George Washington University, School of Medicine; Clinical Assistant Profewssor, Pediatrics: George Washington University, School of Medicine; Clinical Assistant Professor, Psychiatry and Child Psychiatry: Georgetown University, School of Medicine; Consulting Staff: National Children's hospital; Associate, Child Psychiatry: University of Pennsylvania, School of Medicine. Ray is a noted consultant, lecturer, educator and seminar presenter. Dr. Wertheim is a Board-Certified Diplomate is Psychiatry and Neurology; and Pediatrics. Additionally, he is a licensed Psychiatrist in Virginia, District of Columbia, Maryland and California. He is a Certified E.M.D.R. practitioner and Master Practitioner of Neurolinguistic Programming. Ray is a Fellow in the American Orthopsychiatric Association and American Academy of Pediatrics. He is a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, American Psychiatry Association, American Association of Marital and family therapy, and American Family Therapy Academy.
