Gary is renowned in the world of Orthodontia in the San Diego, California area. However, he is taking time out to enjoy an ice cream treat with his granddaughter Ellie who lives with her parents in Bermuda. Dr. Hirsh graduated from Temple University Dental School in the top of his class, admitted to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor society in addition to three other honor societies. After two years in the Air Force Dental Service as a Captain, he attended Georgetown University for his Orthodontic Residency, receiving his Masters Degree and writing a thesis which was chosen for the "Thesis Award" by his professors. He began his orthodontic practice in San Diego in 1971 and he is a Board Qualified orthodontist. His love for music inspired the musical theme of his San Carlos Office and his website. He has been a jazz and rock and roll drummer since the age of 13. Today he may be heard beating out a tune with his drums, kitchen spoons, sticks, or fingers or dental air gun. Gesh's professional associations include: American Association of Orthodontists, California Dental Society, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, San Diego County Dental Society, American Dental Association, European Orthodontic Society, Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity. He is a past president of the Paul Revere Dental Study Club, The Neil Brahe San Diego Study Club, and the San Diego Orthodontic Study Club. Dr. Hirsh has been married to Norma, since 1973, and has two daughters, Lauren and Suzanne.
