South Philadelphia, conveniently located, the Veterans Stadium served as home for the Phillies and the Eagles for almost thirty years. Many great games were played there. Replaced in 2005 by two stadiums, the venerable Veterans Stadium were taken down. The new stadiums were built next door to the Vet and are convenient to subway, airport and Walt Whitman Bridge.
