Located at South 6th Street just of South Street, Levis' Hot Dogs was a Philly landmark. The greatest hot dogs and/or Fish Cake Sandwich and the world famous Champ Cherry soda--better than Frank's Cherry Wishniak were the mainstays of its menu. In those golden days before cholesterol consciousness, it was OK to consume a couple of dogs and a bottle of Champ Cherry. Add all the fixins' like onions, sour kraut, the great relish and you were 'good to go'. Today's owner of the soda product is Elliott Hirsh- of Elliott's Amazing Beverages--and my brother. The soda is still availble in its original formula from many area outlets. Check out his website for more info. www.elliottsamazing.com |
