After graduating from Temple University in 1964, Paul received a Juris Doctor degree from Villanova Law School in 1967 and was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar. He then became a Special Agent of the FBI, and after Training School was assigned to the Atlanta office. Paul was later transferred to Columbus, Ohio where he served for another nine years. He was then transferred back to Philadelphia where he investigated various types of criminal activity and became the in-house legal counsel. During his career Paul was Hostage Negotiator, Legal and , Legal and Hostage Situation Instructor and Crime Resistance Coordinator. After 30 years with the FBI Paul retired, and was asked to be the Media Relations Manager and Spokesperson for the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Departments. After eight years he retired again in 2008. During Paul's dual law enforcement careers, he was frequently a speaker at the nationsl conventions for the International Association of Ciefs of Police. Paul started a cooperative program which brought together law enforcement, first responders and the news media. Paul was President of this organization for several years. Paul was the 1999 recipient of the Public Image Award for the state of Florida; he was also the first individual to be awarded the Legion of Merit from the sheriff's office. Through the years Paul has been active in Big Brothers, Make-A-Wish SFoundation, and take Stock in Children. Paul currently mentors high school children. Paul and his wife, Carol have been married for 43 years, and they are enjoying retirement by traveling, playing tennis and golf, hanging out on the beach, and spending time with their three grandchildren. |
