Mike is Professor of Marketing at American University's Kogod School of Business. Mike has been a faculty member for twenty-five years, serving for over ten years as Chairman of the Marketing Department. He has taught courses in consumer behavior, marketing research, marketing principles, marketing management, Internet marketing, and marketing and public policy. Recipient of the Ph.D. degree in Business from Pennsylvania State University, he was editor of the Journal of Public Policy & Marketing from 1992-1995, and Associate Editor of the Journal of Consumer Affairs from 1998-2001. Dr. Mazis' research interests focus on consumer perception of advertising, labeling, and other materials on the impact of information disclosures on consumer perceptions. He has been a consultant to the Federal Trade Commission, Food and Drug Administration, Consumer Product Safety Commission, Department of Justice, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
