Central High School Philadelphia 214th Class Website Arts Center
As noted on the CHS Updates page, The Alumni Association recently reported that a 10 million dollar endowment was received thanks to the generosity of Joseph M. Field (192), a businessman and musician. Matching funds will become available- mostly through the largesse of fellow Centralites and the District of Philadelphia Board of Education. The funding will go toward the building of a state- of- the- art fine and performing arts complex to be erected adjacent to the North Walk front entrance on the Olney Avenue side of the building. Also a new funding program is now available for theose who wish to donate-the 1836 Club (the year that the school was incorporated, in case you forgot). Your contribution to this will assist in the major projects underway that will bring CHS into the 21st century. By the time we convene at CHS for our sixtieth reunion in October,2020, the project will have been well underway.
